MUSIC APPRECIATIONFor beginners, suggested ages 4-9

An ideal introduction to music and musical instruments, suitable for preschoolers, children & parents undecided on a specific instrument to learn, or students attending a primary school where no music classes or programs are available.

A specific aim of these lessons is for the student to be introduced to the language of music in a casual, fun and simple way. It's important to keep in mind that for younger kids learning a specific instrument can sometimes be quite hard, challenging and potentially overwhelming, unrealistic and unfulfilling. Even, or potentially more so, when they really want to play the instrument!

These lessons can help to avoid or alleviate this and lead directly into instrument tuition when the time is right, or it can simply continue along into the Music Development program, which can also be used as a substitute or additional program for music classes at school!

Lessons can involve:

- Performance: active participation in playing songs and various age appropriate instruments (singing, clapping, percussion instruments, recorder, harmonica, Irish tin whistle and ukulele)

- Musically themed games and activities (designed to introduce and aid in learning basic elements of music theory)

- Being introduced to various instruments; including Guitar, Drums & Keyboard

MUSIC DEVELOPMENTFor beginners to intermediate, suggested ages 10 and above

An ideal introduction to music and musical instruments for school students or adults with no previous musical experience, or an ideal continuation or return to music for school students and adults with some previous involvement and understanding of music. This is also an ideal next step for younger students who have progressed through our Music Appreciation Program.

Suitable for children & parents undecided on a specific instrument to learn or students attending a school where no music classes or programs are available. Also suitable as an additional music program for any school students, or for any adults just wanting to learn more about music and instruments in general!

A specific aim of these lessons is for the student to be introduced to the language of music in a fun, straightforward and enjoyable way, and to build on and develop this knowledge and experience of basic music theory with further practical and theoretical exercises and activities.

Lessons are tailored to your age and ability level, whether that's a younger beginner, a high school student, or a grandparent just wanting to recapture the knowledge and ability of their younger playing days!

Lessons can involve:

- Performance: active participation in playing songs and various age appropriate instruments (singing, clapping, percussion instruments, recorder, harmonica, Irish tin whistle and ukulele for younger kids)

- Musically themed games and activities (designed to introduce and aid in learning basic elements of music theory)

- Being introduced to various instruments; including Guitar, Bass, Drums & Keyboard

- Music theory (involving practical and written exercises)
